| Description: | The Get Connected Project is a nationwide community driven initiative, powered by Cellnex, to address poor mobile coverage. JRA are acting as consulting engineers for this initiative, and working with the Cellnex Team JRA are providing a full consulting engineering design service for the project from initial survey, detailed survey through the planning process up to final handover and completion inspections.
In the case study below JRA were involved and worked closely with the Cellnex team to bring the project from inception to final handover through the various processes. Cellnex has worked with Offaly County Council in relation to the deployment of telecommunication infrastructure across the county. One of the areas identified was Coolderry, a small village located 11km from Birr. A detailed site survey was undertaken by Cellnex/JRA to identify the optimal location which would provide the necessary improvement in mobile coverage. A bespoke 15m mini pole streetwork solution was deemed the optimal solution for the location. Following a successful planning application prepared and lodged by JRA , the site was developed by Cellnex in late 2020 and went live with eir Mobile services in January 2021, delivering significantly improved mobile connectivity to the residents and businesses of Coolderry and surrounding areas. |
